POINTS OF LIGHT FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Washington, D.C. (March 15, 2004)"The Points of Light Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Washington D.C., recently announced the election and appointment of four new board members.

John Griffin is the Founder and President of the Momentum Solutions Group, a global research and consulting affiliate network. He has worked with such firms as Spencer Stuart Associates and Heidrick & Struggles International. Mr. Griffin is active in cultural and civic affairs and has served on the corporate board for the Houston Symphony Orchestra. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston.

Dr. Louis Wade Sullivan served as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and founded the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. He was also the founding President of the Association of Minority Health Professions Schools, and he is active in numerous other civic associations. Dr. Sullivan has been honored by many organizations such as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the National Association of Minority Medical Educators.

Samuel Torrence is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Just Born, Inc., a family-owned business that manufactures and markets candies. He also held top leadership positions with Bridgestone USA and Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc.

Mr. Torrence has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Administration from the General Motors Institute (Kettering University) and a Juris Doctor degree from Akron University.

Travis Wrightreceived his Master's Degree in Education from Harvard University where he is now pursuing a PhD. He has worked over the last 10 years at the local, state and national level to support youth service, service-learning and youth leadership. He helped to establish a statewide youth action council, where he conducted technical assistance and training. Mr. Wright was Tennessee's first Youth Engaged in Service (YES) Ambassador for the Points of Light Foundation.

Founded in 1990, the Points of Light Foundation (www.poinsoflight.org) works in communities across the United States through a network of over 350 volunteer Centers. The board of directors includes prominent and politically diverse national leaders from business, education, and the nonprofit communities.

The board is chaired by Steven L. Miller, Chairman & President, SLM Discovery Ventures. Former President George Bush serves as honorary chairman.
