Points of Light Foundation Appoints New VP & Chief Development Officer

WASHINGTON, DC (March 16, 2006)—Joseph F. Bond, Jr., a development and marketing professional, has been promoted to the position of Vice President & Chief Development Officer for the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC.

“Joe has been with the organization for three years in the capacities of Senior Director of Corporate Relations and Chief Development Officer,” said Robert K. Goodwin, President and CEO of the Foundation. “His fundraising efforts include building successful partnerships with a variety of major corporations. Under Joe's leadership in the corporate giving area, new corporate funding has increased more than 200% over the past three years.”

Bond previously served as Business Development Manager for Goodwill Industries International in Bethesda, MD, where he was responsible for management of the organization's business development and marketing efforts. Previously he was Assistant Vice President, Mid-Atlantic Sales with the Student Loan Marketing Association (Sallie Mae) in White Plains, NY.

Bond graduated with honors from the University of Maryland/Baltimore, where he majored in Business Management. He resides in Washington, DC and is an active participant in a number of volunteer and nonprofit causes.
