A Message from Bob Goodwin, President and CEO

The Points of Light Foundation turns 15 this year! As we celebrate this milestone in our history, we'd like to introduce To The Point, an online newsletter with news about our current partnerships, events and initiatives.

In this inaugural issue of To The Point, read about the recent launch of 1-800-Volunteer.org, an on-line service for managing volunteer opportunities that places Volunteer Centers at the hub of community volunteering. Learn about the ways in which we are leveraging partnerships in response to the recent crisis in South Asia, providing relief and support to our international neighbors rebuilding in the wake of a devastating natural disaster.

In 2005, we are building upon a powerful movement of volunteer service, while maintaining the kind of environment I enjoy most, one that inspires intellectual passion and a commitment to excellence. I attribute our success largely to the incredible diligence and creativity of our team members. In every issue of To The Point, you will meet and greet the newest staff members joining the team that is the heart of this organization.

It is my hope that To The Point is more than just a valuable resource for the latest Foundation news, but ultimately becomes another way we support our community - a community that includes you and all those who strive to make a difference in these dynamic times.
