Kim Bohince

Program Associate Kim Bohince is responsible for updating existing training curricula, coordinating the production of training materials, and marketing training events. She also serves as the customer interface for the training department and maintains records for training and consulting accounts.
Originally from Greensburg, Penn., Kim attended the University of Pittsburgh. After college, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Armenia. During that time she implemented a domestic violence initiative, worked with the USAID Earthquake Recovery Zone project, and learned how to eat "khash" for breakfast. (For those of you who wish to know what exactly "khash" is, just ask her). Her hobbies include hiking, caving, and pottery.
When asked to share her greatest professional accomplishment, Kim doesn't hesitate to highlight her 27-month Peace Corps experience. "For me, living outside the U.S. has given me such a wonderful perspective on life. I don't take anything for granted now." |

Diane Thurston Frye

In her current position, Diane Thurston Frye develops corporate relationships with prospective donors and helps to implement development strategies for programs in her territory, which primarily includes central U.S. states.
Diane began her career as a file clerk for Suburban Trust Bank in Rockville, Md., in 1970. She has worked for several banks over the last 32 years and was a First Vice President with a fortune 500 company when she retired. Throughout her career, she has always encouraged others that she worked with to rise above their current position.
Born in Louisa, Va., Diane graduated with a B.S. degree in Human Services from the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, Md. A devoted wife and mother of three, Diane enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, working with single mothers, and cooking for senior citizens in her church.
Passionate about the care of older and incapacitated people, Diane started a program at her church called Ministry Delights, which provides one meal per month for persons needing assistance. |

Polina Makievsky
Manager, Volunteer Centers & National Initiatives

Manager Polina Makievsky works to build the capacities of individual Volunteer Centers and the Volunteer Center National Network. She also provides customer service to Volunteer Centers, manages the Volunteer Center Start-Up program, and distributes resources that benefit Volunteer Centers.
Polina spent most of her professional life working in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she was a policy analyst with the Family Strengthening Policy Center, of the National Human Services Assembly. Previously, she spent four years in the former Soviet Union working on international development projects. She takes pride in forming the Georgian Women's Leadership Program, a training program for 100 women to strengthen leadership skills and develop community-based projects.
Polina earned a Master's degree in Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Policy Studies in Baltimore, Md., and an undergraduate degree from Smith College in Northampton, Mass. In her spare time Polina enjoys outdoor activities, knitting, watercolor painting, and learning belly dancing.

Terrianne Small's duties at the Foundation include training Volunteer Centers that have signed up for the 1-800-Volunteer.org service and assisting them in implementing the 1-800-Volunteer system. In addition, she manages the 1-800-Volunteer.org support department.
With more than 13 years experience in the customer service and technical support industry, Terrianne previously worked for Global eXchange Services, a former General Electric Company. She has managed several customer service organizations in the U.S. and India. She is a certified Six Sigma Greenbelt with a B.B.A. from Howard University in Information Systems.
Terrianne is a committed volunteer. Her volunteer resume includes conducting camps for low-income families, collecting used cell phones for local women's shelters, participating in an adopt-a-grandparent program, and serving as spokesperson for the National Marrow Donor Program®. She also enjoys volunteering at her children's elementary school.
Originally from the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago, she lives in Laytonsville, Md., with her husband, Mark Small, and their children, Quinton, 8, and Lauryn, 4. |
