“We Are Family 2007” CD Now in Stores

The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network and Grammy Award-winning producer Rodney Jerkins have produced an all-star remake of the 1970s hit, “We Are Family.” It is now available from many retailers and online music providers, Amazon music, Target, Wal-Mart, iTunes and others.

“‘We Are Family’ is a response to a pressing need,” says Foundation President & CEO Robert K. Goodwin. “Thousands of people who have been displaced by the hurricanes of 2005 continue to require services ranging from counseling and job placement for adults to tutoring and mentoring of children.” Proceeds from CD sales will support disaster relief and family strengthening programs of the Foundation and its partners.

“We Are Family” is the title song on a 10-track CD featuring previously unreleased recordings from some of today’s top artists, including Ciara, Chris Brown, Patti LaBelle, Ray J, Brian McKnight, Sister Sledge, Mary Mary, Belle Winans, Lyfe Jennings, George Clinton, Christina Milan and Atiba.

Included with every CD is a “Behind the Scenes” making of the CD featuring interviews with many of the artists and an epilogue narrated by Alfre Woodard. The CD/DVD package is available for $20.
