THE WAY WE GET BY Received by Warm Audience at the Conference

Jerry Mundy, one of the stars of THE WAY WE GET BY, put it best when he said, “It makes me so proud to be a part of this amazing group of volunteers.” Over the past six years, Jerry has been volunteering his time greeting troops heading off to war and returning home. It has nothing to do with politics—just the sheer love of seeing the young men and women and making sure they know that someone is thinking of them.
When I asked him to come to the conference, he agreed, but I could also tell he was worried about missing the troop flights that would come during that week. But I told him there would be others, amazing volunteers, that he could meet at this conference and share their love for helping others.
That’s exactly what happened—from the time Jerry stood in line waiting to get in to hear Michelle Obama speak to our screening. We had around 100 volunteers come to see THE WAY WE GET BY, which was shown as part of the Civic.Energy.Generation. Film Festival. The response from the group was extraordinary, and since then we’ve been in contact with many who want to help us share this experience with their groups across the country.
THE WAY WE GET BY will open theatrically, beginning in New York City on July 17. If we do well in New York City, we can open up in cities all across the country.
Jerry and I would like to request your help now….if you can spread the word about our film, THE WAY WE GET BY, to your friends and family, we can do it—we can open in cities we never dreamed of to share this deeply personal film with your communities.
We are also running special promotions with the film as it hits theaters to get people out to volunteer. To learn more about what we're doing, click here.
Thank you for your support, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
