Before the Opening General Session...

The opening general session of the conference is Monday at 1:30 p.m., but we recommend landing in New York well before then in order to take advantage of awesome events!
Saturday and Sunday: The Advanced Volunteer Management Institute begins on Saturday at 9 a.m. and continues on Sunday. World-renowned facilitators Martin J. Cowling, Susan Ellis, Rick Lynch, Steve McCurley and Betty Stallings in this high-level, engaging and enlightening exploration of advanced topics in volunteer program management for nonprofit, government and community organizations. We are also planning a host of service projects in New York during the weekend. Look for details about opportunities to volunteer in our host city soon!
Sunday only: Celebrate service at the Mets game! The Mets take on the Minnesota Twins on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. at Citi Field in Flushing, New York. Two conference fans will be invited onto the field for a once-in-a-lifetime V.I.P. experience! Check your registration confirmation email to purchase discounted tickets to the game, or email Leigh Harper.
Monday: Girls. Power. Change. The Girls Summit on Civic Engagement (1735) begins Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. This empowering event for girls ages 12 – 18 will highlight the value of female-driven civic engagement and leadership, featuring a panel of females such as L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth Honorees who have embraces innovation. One girl, selected by her peers, will be awarded $1,000 to make her “change maker” idea reality! Learn more about the summit here.
