In 2009 alone, Dianne Guillot logged in 1,800 volunteer hours and this is probably a small part of what the she actually gives to our community.  West Monroe, Louisiana is lucky to have a citizen like Dianne in it’s ranks!  She has served on the Advisory Board of both Retired Senior Volunteer Program and on the Community Emergency Response Team since 2004 and is president of the board of Communities Acting to Benefit Louisiana's Elderly.  She has been a Board Member at Large of the West Monroe High School Alumni Association since its inception and she has been the Monroe Chapter President of the Retired State Employees Association since 1999.  Dianne has been very involved with the Northeast Central Louisiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and, as a 17 year breast cancer survivor, has served as a lobbyinst for the cause in Washington, D. C. and is the Cure chair for local Race. What Dianne finds most rewarding is leading cancer patients to becominginvoled with helping others as part of the healing process.  Dianne works with disadvantaged women and children with speech and hearing problems through Quota International, she is on the Senior Olympics Board of Directors and is the only director who actually participates in the games!  Dianne helped found West Monroe Little League Baseball  and founded the Challenger League for West Monroe’s disabled children.   Dianne was known to push a wheel chair around the bases and even carry a child and run the bases with him so that even with braces on his legs he’d feel the trhill of getting a run.  These are memories Dianne will never forget. Dianne has been a Red Cross shelter volunteer since 1991 and in 2006 was presented the RSVP Senior Corps Spirit of Service Award by the Corporation of National and Community Service for her shelter work with hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  During Hurrican Katrina and Rita, Dianne help over 3,000 victims have food, shelter, find needed resources to help them put their lives back together.  In the shelter she recruits the victims to volunteer to help each other, giving them a feeling of hope and better things to come.  Dianne still works on Emergency and Disaster related issues. Dianne is very people orientated person.  She is always willing to volunteer, either in a leadership capacity or a helper.  Dianne has the gift of motavation.  Once she begins a project, she has everyone joining in to help.  She is upbeat and motavated - no project is to small or to large.  She is able to find a volunteer opportunity for everyone she is involved with no matter what their age or disability Dianne inspires other citizens of West Monroe to volunteer.  Dianne motivates volunteers to rise in the ranks of community groups and take on responsibilities as leaders.  Her enthusiasm is contagious.
