We are only a few days away from the largest gathering of volunteer and service leaders in the world! As excitement continues to build for the National Conference on Volunteering and Service, Points of Light Institute and the Corporation for National and Community Service would like to share tips to help you be as prepared as possible for this watershed event!
Online registration is now closed, and on-site registrations are limited. Registration opens at the Hilton New York on the Second Floor at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 26. Walk-up registration will be available during these hours as well. If you wish to change your itinerary, visit the onsite Program Viewing Stations at the registration desk to choose your options. These stations will be featuring all updated workshops and speakers.
Speaker handouts will be available in advance from the presenters. In an effort to be eco-friendly, please click here to download handouts for your workshops in advance.
Limited Wifi: 3G and 4G, will be available in certain workshops via your mobile device.
Plan to enjoy New York City! Don't forget to visit the EXPLORE page of the conference Web site for a list of shopping, dining and entertaining discounts.
Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing. Click here for more suggestions regarding your trip.
If you signed up for an immersion learning session, be sure to check the attire and accessibility details listed on the Web site. http://www.volunteeringandservice.org/plan/immersion-learning-sessions.cfm
Be sure to look for copies of It's Up to YOU Times at the hotels each morning to catch highlights from the previous days and preview activities happening that day.
Visit the conference web site to watch sessions live and connect with other conference participants online! We also invite you to catch this inspiring video from PricewaterhouseCoopers about the education micro-plenary session on Wednesday morning: The Role of Service in Remaking American Education (1363), featuring a keynote by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
See you in the Empire State!
