The National Conference on Volunteering and Service Announced for Chicago 2012

We just finished the 2011 National Conference on Volunteering and Service in the vibrant city of New Orleans. This week we will feature recaps of the event on our blog, NCVS blog, and facebook.  Thank you to Target for sponsoring the event and to all who participated! You can find other recaps on the #ncvs twitter feed where you can continue to discuss inspiring service topics, strategies, and ideas.

The first day highlights featured the culmination of Road to the Gulf on Monday with four great service projects that rejuvenated parks in New Orleans.  We also kicked off the opening session and celebrated our Champions of Service with a volunteer parade led by The Roots of Music and a fun New Orleans party in the Exhibit Hall afterwards which featured art, music, and food from this wonderful city.

Tuesday featured great immersion learning sessions, the CEO roundtable, and the Corporate Engagement awards, among many other great civic sessions. We closed on Wednesday with a 9/11 breakfast, more immersion learning sessions, and a fun closing ceremony where specific service individuals were honored and a wonderful performance from Percy Sledge.
