NCVS Re-Invigorates New Orleans- Highlights From Our 2011 Conference

These videos were shown at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2011 National Conference on Volunteering and Service and highlight the impact made on the New Orleans community.

This year in New Orleans we heard Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s heartfelt thanks to volunteers for helping bring New Orleans back. Laysha Ward, president of the Target Foundation, showed us Target’s great work in the community and ABC News’ Deborah Roberts moderated a spirited conversation with political consultants James Carville and Mary Matalin on the power of volunteerism and the resilience of New Orleans.

“We had great inspiration, entertainment, storytelling, and informative sessions to equip our participants to bring back new tools, ideas and commitment to their own communities. I hope that you all were re-invigorated after experiencing the amazing stories of New Orleans and from your fellow champions of service. . . The road in the coming year will lead us back together in Chicago, June 18-20, 2012. We hope that our shared civic pathway will bring new forms of collaboration and a shared commitment to powerfully tell our story of impact.”
