Summer 2011 Youth Leaders Conferences
Don’t want to send your child to a camp this summer? Looking for something more educational and rewarding? There are some great programs happening this summer for youth. The Congressional Youth Leadership Conferences offer fun, learning experiences where 15-18 year olds can meet new people and travel to different countries.
The Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC) hosts national and global summer conferences for middle school and high school students. The CYLC offers dynamic experiential education programs that focus on leadership development and inspire high-achieving young people from around the world to achieve their full potential.
Each of the sessions are designed to educate, inspire and motivate students by giving them the opportunity to explore cultural differences firsthand, absorb diplomatic skills daily, build confidence and enhance decision-making skills in an exciting atmosphere that is challenging and fun.
CYLC’s young leaders meet with high-ranking government officials, members of Congress, diplomats, media figures and more.
Educators and mentors can nominate students to attend. The CYCL seek students with leadership potential and a history of academic achievement – outstanding individuals representing a variety of backgrounds and possessing a broad range of interests and goals. CYLC also hopes to attract the most mature and independent individuals possible within this age group.
