Everyday is Valentines Day for Volunteering
Happy Valentines Day!
Maybe you have embraced this day, maybe you resent this day, whatever the case, today is a day to celebrate and spread love- why not think about it as a day to spread kindness? And what better way to do that then by volunteering?
Not only is this day to celebrate with people you love, but you can celebrate with friends, neighbors, co-workers- There is plenty of kindness to be spread to all!
In Finland Valentine's Day is called Ystävänpäivä which translates into "Friend's day." As the name indicates, this day is more about remembering all your friends, not only your loved ones. In Estonia Valentine's Day is called Sõbrapäev, which has the same meaning.
In some Latin American countries like Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Puerto Rico Valentine's Day is known as "Día del Amor y la Amistad" the Day of Love and Friendship. It is common to see people perform "acts of appreciation" for their friends.
We want to spread kindness to all our readers and supporters- You all hold a special place in our hearts- thank you for all you do to make the world a brighter, happier, place to live in. We appreciate your support all year round, but especially today we want to express our gratitude.
Everyday is Valentines Day for volunteering! We encourage you to use today as an excuse to spread kindness and volunteer!
