Atlanta Falcons Promote Volunteering

Yesterday has been an exciting day for volunteering in Atlanta.
Points of Light joined HandsOn Atlanta for the official kick off of a partnership with the Atlanta Falcons. In partnership with the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, the Atlanta Falcons and the City of Atlanta, we have created a city-wide campaign – Rise Up Atlanta - to make Atlanta better through volunteerism. Points of light is powering the Rise Up Atlanta microsite through HandsOn Connect, providing hundreds of volunteer slots per month.
The program kicked off with a project and press conference at City of Refuge. Speakers included Mayor Reed, Arthur Blank and Monique Shields from HandsOn Atlanta. Together they previewed this partnership and talked about how we are coming together to help rise up the spirit of volunteering in Atlanta together.

Falcons fans and community minded volunteers are encouraged to log on to www.riseupatlanta.com to find volunteer projects coordinated by Hands On Atlanta. Fans who sign up and attend volunteer projects will receive Falcon merchandise.
