For more than 20 years, USA WEEKEND Magazine and Points of Light have joined together to sponsor Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service. Millions of volunteers around the world unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others.

Since we are around six weeks out, now is the time to think about what projects can be created and supported — are you willing to make a difference?

Here is how you can get started. Visit the Daytabank online to start a project or join a project.

Download the Make a Difference Day toolkits to help you plan your service project. Utilize the web banners, media advisories and social media tips in the toolkit to promote your project.  Download Governor and Mayor Proclamations on our website.

Once you create a service project enter your project into the Daytabank website to recruit volunteers and be considered for the Newman’s Own grants.

Help us Make A Big Difference on Oct. 27, 2012.

Afterwards update us about the success of your project for the opportunity to win a $10,000 grant from Newman’s Own to continue your good work.
