In the United States, more than 41 million people, including nearly 13 million children, struggle with hunger. That means 1 in 6 children are food insecure. According to Feeding America, hunger — an often unseen issue — affects individuals of all ages, demographics, and backgrounds, and is often tied with other issues of poverty and economic insecurity. Two members of the Points of Light Corporate Service Council are going above and beyond to address hunger and food security in the communities where they do business.

More than 60 leaders in corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, and volunteerism convened in Hong Kong on May 25, 2016, for the Points of Light Corporate Service Council Asia Meeting. Excitement in the air was palpable, as attendees explored opportunities for accelerating the impact of corporate citizenship in Asia.

Building on its corporate volunteering efforts throughout the year, Fidelity Investments recently celebrated its annual Fidelity Cares Day, with more than 6,000 employee volunteers sharing their time and talent with 27 schools and 81 projects across the United States, Canada and India. The day’s projects reached nearly 18,000 students and more than 2,600 teachers.
