Who should apply?
Together with the PwC Charitable Foundation, the Starbucks Foundation, SAP and the Committee for Children New Mission Ventures Fund, the Points of Light Civic Accelerator is seeking innovative social ventures that are working to create greater, more accessible pathways to economic opportunity in communities across the U.S.
In 2014, Points of Light committed to bring its Civic Accelerator program to an increased number of early stage for-profit, non-profit, and hybrid civic start-ups. Points of Light will extend the Civic Accelerator national platform by implementing regional programming in the Southeast, Midwest, and Pacific Northwest, and extending the core accelerator programming to include new fast-pitch events and short-form accelerator sessions. The number of civic entrepreneurs who come through its program each year will double to 300, and they in turn will engage over 375,000 individuals as they implement innovative solutions to problems in areas such as education, the environment, economic, and community development, and technology-for-good.

-- Ted Gonder, Executive Director of MoneyThink and Civic Accelerator Alum
“The Civic Accelerator team delivers great value to investors. Their innovative and rigorous boot camp significantly upgrades both the business models of the ventures and the management competencies of the entrepreneurs. The result is a portfolio of investment ready civic ventures. We've already invested in one venture and look forward to investing in more."
