OUR NETWORKS

business picture We are committed to building volunteer organizations and communities and strong networks of volunteer managers. We believe a stronger, more responsive volunteer community is one of the best strategic tools to solve serious social problems. Volunteer managers play a critical role in creating these organizations and ensuring that communities are prepared to work with volunteers on critical community issues.

What is a volunteer manager? Are you a volunteer manager? Can you benefit from joining one of our networks?
A volunteer manager is a leader of volunteer resources. He or she is a paid or unpaid individual within a community or organization committed to providing ongoing leadership for a volunteer work force. The role of the volunteer manager (or volunteer administration professional) is similar to a human resource professional who is responsible for paid staff. In fact, the volunteer administration professional may manage more staff than anyone. (Adapted from Association for Volunteer Administration)
