What are Corporate Volunteer Councils (CVCs)?
Corporate Volunteer Councils are local networks that businesses join to share effective practices and address community needs through workplace volunteering. There are over 80 CVCs across the country.
What is the Corporate Volunteer Council Partners Program?
The CVC Partners Program provides resources, customized assistance, and
networking opportunities for professionals interested in starting or strengthening CVCs
on the local level.
What are the goals of the CVC Partners Program?
The goals are to support local CVCs and to encourage strong start-up CVCs in areas
without existing ones. In addition, the CVC Partners Program will raise awareness about
business involvement in community volunteering.
Why was the program created?
There is an increasing demand from companies for more workplace volunteering
opportunities. In response to this need, the Corporate Volunteer Council Partners
Program supports employee volunteer managers in sharing knowledge and resources in
order to multiply their collective impact in communities.
Who can join the CVC Partners Program?
Local CVC leaders and their business members, employee volunteer managers, and
business leaders who are interested in joining a CVC will participate in the program.
What is the relationship between Volunteer Center National Network and the CVC Partners Program?
The CVC Partners Program is managed by the Points of Light Foundation. Many Corporate Volunteer Councils participate in this program and partner or are affiliated with Volunteer Centers. The Points of Light Foundation advocates community service through partnership with local Volunteer Centers that are members of the Volunteer Center National Network. Volunteer Centers are a convener for the community, a catalyst for social action, and a key resource for volunteer involvement. They mobilize people and resources to deliver creative solutions to community problems.

Business Strengthening America (BSA) is sponsoring the program. Business
Strengthening America is an initiative to mobilize the business community in support of
