The faith effort of the Points of Light Foundation seeks to deliver training, resources, and expertise to the hundreds of congregations and the millions of individuals who volunteer based on the principles of their faith. 23 million Americans volunteer annually through their congregation or faith-based organization. The initiative makes a special attempt to be inclusive of all faiths and denominations and is especially interested in interfaith service. The initiative has hundreds of partners who are committed to engaging people in community service.

Partners in the Foundation's faith initiative represent Volunteer Centers, congregations, faith-based organizations, non-profits, community ministries, and interfaith coalitions and organizations, large and small, located in all areas of the country. They share a commitment to cooperative service for the betterment of communities.
