Grants Total $1.57 Million, Support 130 AmeriCorps Members Across the U.S.
ATLANTA, May 9, 2014 – Points of Light received three grants from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) this week that will provide a total of $1.57 million to support 130 AmeriCorps members who are working to address challenges facing veterans, returning service members and their families and facing families and communities unprepared for disasters.

ATLANTA, May 6, 2014 – Mayor Kasim Reed will join Points of Light’s Conference on Volunteering and Service. The Conference is the largest convening of volunteer, national service and civic leaders from across the globe. The Conference will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center from June 16-18.

This funding will support the Points of Light Civic Accelerator, the first accelerator program and investment fund in the nation focused on social ventures, which engage people to solve critical social problems.
