Volunteers are the Link

Volunteers play a crucial role in empowering low-income families to achieve a more secure economic future. Without volunteers, there would be no free tax preparation programs. This could mean fewer working families getting the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Volunteers are taking on a variety of roles in free tax preparation programs, including:

• Preparing taxes
• Welcoming people coming for free tax preparation
• Offering information on financial literacy
• Providing childcare and translation services... and more

Volunteers from all backgrounds and abilities have a role to play in free tax preparation services. You need not be an accountant to help. You can give your time to help your neighbor! Training will be provided to help you learn the skills you will need.
