Points of Light engages service members, veterans and their families in service to make a lasting impact in their communities. Points of Light activates these community leaders to support three signature days of service:

Veterans Day – This day, celebrated on Nov. 11, honors America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Month of the Military Child – Military children face many unique challenges, such as parents' deployments and frequent moves. Throughout April, we recognize and show appreciation for our military children.

9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance – On the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, this day of service is a tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.

The service conducted during these volunteer opportunities strengthens community ties and bonds civilian and military members in service. Join us in celebrating heroism and inspiring a legacy of service by becoming a host site. Apply here.
