Program measurement is essential to understanding the value an employee volunteer program (EVP) brings to the employees, the company and the community. This advanced seminar explores the rationale and methods for measuring program outcomes, and provides specific methodologies for evaluating key aspects of and EVP. Get hands-on practice and expert guidance from national experts.

This seminar is intended for experienced employee volunteer program managers and their supervisors. Participants should have job responsibility for managing an EVP in a business setting. Not open to independent consultants. Pre-requisites: Introductory Business Seminar, and/or 2 or more years experience in managing an EVP.
This course includes:
- determining what information you need to track
- quantitative and qualitative methods for data collection
- survey design and administration
- simple yet powerful methods for analyzing data
- interpretation and reporting of results
About the Trainers
Chris Toppe, Ph.D., is Senior Social Scientist in the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation at the Points of Light Foundation. He has considerable professional experience in conducting original research and in the analysis of survey data. As a social scientist, Chris designs, conducts, analyzes, interprets, and writes research studies. While at Independent Sector, he managed their studies on giving and volunteering. He currently teaches in the graduate school of Georgetown University.
Jennifer Kim, Director of Business Services, is responsible for building relationships with businesses and providing them with ongoing volunteer program assistance. She directs the publication of industry-relevant research around workplace volunteering and is co-author of Developing Excellence in Workplace Volunteer Programs: Guidelines for Success (2nd edition). Before joining the Foundation, Jennifer worked as a strategy consultant for PwC Consulting (now IBM Consulting) and served as the co-chairperson for PwC's DC metro employee volunteer program.
