Measuring Program Outcomes for Your Employee Volunteer Program

Program measurement is essential to understanding the value of an employee volunteer program to the employees, the company and the community. This advanced seminar explores the rationale and methods for measuring program outcomes.

This course includes:

  • determining what information you need to track
  • examining methods for data collection
  • exploring the primary types of evaluation used to measure program success
  • practical tools for conducting program assessment and evaluation
  • extensive course materials


This seminar is intended for experienced employee volunteer program managers and their supervisors. Participants should have job responsibility for managing an EVP in a business setting. Not open to independent consultants. Pre-requisites: Introductory Business Seminar, and/or 2 or more years experience in managing an EVP.

About the Trainer
Chris Toppe, Ph.D., is Senior Social Scientist in the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation at the Points of Light Foundation. He has considerable professional experience in conducting original research and in the analysis of survey data. As a social scientist, Chris designs, conducts, analyzes, interprets, and writes research studies. While at Independent Sector, he managed their studies on giving and volunteering. He currently teaches in the graduate school of Georgetown University.
