Maria Machado works with a community much in need of mentors. She serves as part of the Mentoring Children of Incarcerated Parents, which is a site-based mentoring program designed to build the academic confidence and social skills of children ages 8–16 whose parents are incarcerated or formerly incarcerated. Often these young people feel ashamed and are in need of a caring adult to support them.

Kathleen Conner is the President of Angie’s Spa, a one-of-a-kind corporation that provides free spa services for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Kathleen is a cancer patient herself, also receiving chemotherapy. Her hospital doesn’t provide the spa services that her organization does, but she spends her time fundraising, strategizing and marketing to reach her goal of opening up Angie’s Spa centers in hospitals throughout the country. She works tirelessly to reach this so that other cancer patients don’t have to cope with chemotherapy un-pampered.

Four years ago, while leaving for the Kentucky Derby, the Huscroft’s first heard the story of thoroughbred racing champion Afleet Alex and his connection to a little girl named Alex Scott. Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) was the creator of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. When Alex was only 4-years-old, she voiced a simple wish, she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer.

Gina Marie Incandela is a 6 year old girl who donates her time and performances to various charitable organizations and causes on a regular basis. She addressed the community needs for education and awareness of many causes such as autism and cancer. The community and the world are different as a result of Gina's efforts. She touches people in a very special way and draws attention to issues within the community that affect almost all members at some point in time. She uses her voice to reach people that might never have given such issues any thought, if not for seeing and hearing Gina.
