Joshua has always been ready to help. While in college, he volunteered twice in New Orleans to help recovery from Hurricane Katrina. Following college he worked as a top analyst in the finance sector for 3 years, then quit to volunteer with several micro-finance companies in southeast Asia to help the poor and disadvantaged. He returned home this summer for his brother's wedding, which was the day before Hurricane Irene hit upstate NY. He was to begin a job volunteering in Denver, but has put that on hold, as he has been coordinating volunteers (over 500 to date) and gutting and mucking houses ever since for the residents of Schoharie County impacted in the devasting and catastrophic flooding that hit here on Aug. 28th. He personally has worked over 500 hours in volunteer service for the people of the county and plans on continuing as long as the need is here. I am proud to call him my son, and proud that he has shared his gifts and talents and heart with so many in need.
