Adjacent Generational Exchange (A.G.E.)
Adjacent Generational Exchange, an initiative of the Royal Oak Senior Community Center, was established in 1984 to provide in-home assistance to elderly persons following surgery or illness.
Over 300 volunteers provide respite care and transportation to medical appointments or other destinations, help with shopping, and prepare meals. The program also pairs 45 volunteer “Friendly Visitors” with seniors to spend time together having lunch or going to movies. A.G.E. also works with seniors to ensure that they can live at home for as long as possible.
