Founded in 1973, TreePeople promotes efforts to plant trees, increasing the prospects that future generations will be able to enjoy a green landscape.
Volunteers lead classes outdoors for community members, talking about forestry and tree planting issues, while showing them the benefits of trees in their own community. Children are encouraged to see and feel their way through the woods, helping them develop closer relationship with the environment. Volunteers also offer the children fun ideas for recycling at home and instructions on caring for trees.
