Neil Bush

Neil Bush is the third of five children of President and Mrs. George H.W. Bush.  He and his wife Maria live in Houston, Texas and have six children.  

Neil is active in service.  He is the Chairman of Points of Light, and serves on the boards of the Houston Salvation Army, Volunteer Houston, The Fay School, America’s Promise Alliance, and the Bush School of Government and Public Service.  He is proud to promote his father’s legacy of service that encourages every American to find the transformational power of helping others.

Neil entered the oil and gas business thirty years ago as a landman with Amoco Production Company.  He founded independent exploration companies based in Denver, Colorado where for ten years he served as CEO, working with exploration geologists and geophysicists in generating prospects.  Over the past twenty years Neil has been very active in developing energy and other business in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.  Neil has been particularly interested in building close ties with China and has visited China over eighty times over the past thirty five years.  

Neil has been very active in international business development working with Asian companies in developing business opportunities in the Middle East and Africa and introducing American partners to opportunities in other parts of the world.  

Neil is a public school education entrepreneur having founded Ignite! Learning, a curriculum publishing company that arms middle school teachers with active, media rich learning tools that engage their 21st century students.  

Neil graduated from Tulane University’s School of Business with a Masters degree in 1979.
