Debbie Thomas-Brown is a dedicated, selfless nurse who has vowed to spend her time helping the unfortunate, disadvantaged and sometimes devastated members of her South Florida immigrant community who find themselves unknowingly in a relationship or married to a secretly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transexual (LGBT) spouse.
As a straight spouse herself, she is a dedicated Straight Spouse Peer Support Specialist and resource person for men and women who inadvertently find themselves unknowingly in a dysfunctional or abusive marriage with a secretly LGBT person.
Debbie spends hours every day returning calls to straight spouses and their family members who use her organization's telephone hotline. Through her website dedicated to straight spouse awareness, she is frank and determined to provide no holds barred information so people can stop being naive, understand what they are dealing with, and understand and learn how to cope with their difficult situations.
