The deadline to apply to join Points of Light's Civic Accelerator is drawing near. This innovative program, a partnership with Village Capital and supported by PwC Charitable Foundation Inc. and Starbucks Coffee Company, will invest in nonprofit and for-profit startups that inspire, equip and mobilize people as part of their solution to create positive change.
As showcased by CSRwire today, the Civic Accelerator's first cohort will include 10 selected civic ventures that will receive training at three, multi-day training workshops over the course of 12 weeks. Each startup will also receive a seed investment of $10,000. At the conclusion of the program, all of the entrepreneurs vote and the two most promising ventures each receive $50,000 in investment.
