Statement by CEO Michelle Nunn On the Passing of Adele Hall

Yesterday we received the sad news that friend and a committed Points of Light leader, Adele Hall, passed away on Saturday at the age of 81. Adele was Vice Chairman of the Points of Light Foundation and a pivotal member of the Points of Light family for many years. She co-chaired Points of Light’s Tribute to President and Mrs. George H. W. Bush at the Kennedy Center in 2011. We were the grateful recipients of her wisdom, counsel and friendship.

We join President George H. W. Bush in his belief that Adele Hall “was one of God's most special people -- one of the original and most generous Points of Light -- whose caring compassion and selflessness touched so many lives in her beloved Kansas City and far beyond."

I know that you all join me in remembering Adele- for her gracious and kind spirit and her many contributions to not only Points of Light's work and family, but her charitable commitments locally and nationally. You can see more about her passionate commitment to the service movement at Hallmark’s site in her memory: "Volunteerism, basically, is a spirit of giving, a faith in each other, a belief in love." This site will also provide further details about services and ways of remembering Adele.
