Twenty-five years ago this week President George H. W. Bush gave the first Daily Point of Light Award. Commemorating the silver anniversary of the award program, Points of Light invites you to meet today’s honoree, Dr. Patricia Wolff, and to nominate someone you know as a Point of Light.

Today, Points of Light honors the exceptional work of volunteers at its Tribute event, hosted this year by the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C. In celebration of emerging opportunities for volunteerism that strengthen the bonds between Asia and North America, read the story of today’s Daily Point of Light, an Asian-American who leads 200 Dallas youths in service, teaching them how to become leaders.
Meet Mark Burke, today's Daily Point of Light Award winner, who uses his skills as a golf pro to help veterans become more socially and physically active. He and today’s UK Point of Light joint awardees – Tristan Crew and Zeno Gomes – will work together from across the Atlantic to develop their own volunteering and encourage others to volunteer.
