Angela Ippolito

Daily Point of Light # 3195 May 4, 2006

Angela Ippolito is an 80 year old marvel. Angie, a naturalized U.S. citizen, came to this country as a young adult. She worked full-time in a high school cafeteria until the age of 72, but after three months of retirement decided that she wanted more.

She has volunteered since 1998 at ScholarShop, the funding arm of The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis. She loves the idea of helping young people be able to afford to continue their college education through no-interest loans from the Foundation. This past year Angie has contributed 780 hours of her time sorting and hanging donated upscale clothing for resale at ScholarShop. When asked what motivates her to continue at this “gold level” pace she replied, “I love the people, the place, and the work. It’s fun and I’m contributing to a great cause.” Angie has our vote for most dedicated volunteer of the year!Angela Ippolito is an 80 year old marvel.
