Leading With Purpose: A Student’s Journey to Empower Communities Through Service

Aditya Jain is founder and president of Hotels for Humanity, a student-led nonprofit turning discarded hotel linens and toiletries into resources for underserved communities across southeast Virginia. After noticing usable items being thrown away during a hotel internship, Aditya built partnerships with 11 hotels and eight nonprofits, helping donate more than 20,000 items worth $31,000 while creating hands-on service opportunities for more than 100 student volunteers.

Aditya believes meaningful change starts with paying attention to the needs around you. Through founding Hotels for Humanity, he has learned that leadership is built through trust, persistence and community partnerships. Aditya encourages other young people to start small, take initiative and not let age limit their impact. By connecting students with hands-on service opportunities, he hopes to inspire the next generation of changemakers to lead with empathy and action.
