Get to Know Our Organization

Founded in 1990, Points of Light is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization focused on mobilizing and inspiring individuals to create positive change in their communities. We provide resources, tools and support to engage volunteers, promote civic engagement and address pressing social issues.

Our Mission

The Points of Light mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world. We envision a world in which everyone discovers the power to make a difference, creating healthy communities in vibrant, participatory societies.

Our Impact

In 2022, Points of Light’s ecosystem mobilized nearly 4 million people in over 16 million hours of service through 145 affiliates and 56,000 community partners. Volunteers in our network organized food drives, mentored students, opened shelters, donated supplies, and did so much more for their communities.

We need your help to keep that momentum going throughout 2023. With your support, we will widen and deepen our work, inspiring even more individuals and organizations to make positive changes across the globe. When we work together, our collective impact is stronger.
