Joan Monroe is passionate about sharing the treasure trove of books housed at the Trafford Community Public Library with the residents of her small Pennsylvania town. As a library volunteer, she helps promote events, fundraises, and acts as secretary of the board. Because of her advocacy efforts, the library has seen an upswing in new visitors.
Trafford Community Public Library director Jessica Beichler shared that Joan tirelessly works to make a difference in the community through the library, and her service has been integral to its survival.
“[Joan] has been vital to fundraising efforts,” Jessica said. “She contributes great ideas and always brings 110% effort to everything she does.”
